Balancing Act.

Posted on

Free gym and use of facilities for working at the YMCA this summer. Made my day. Still, as wimpy as it sounds, this turf burn from my game on Saturday is destroying me.

What I learned:

1. Don’t leave bandages on turf burn too long because it will:

a.) Stick to the wound and hurt

b.) Hurt because you will peel it off slowly

c.) Do the opposite of healing

2. Don’t get turf burn

On the move.

Consumers are starting to use mobile applications more than the actual web,  what do you do now? Wait or take action. Going back to my previous post, consumers are attracted to the personal side of companies. Creating an application for an Android phone, IPhone, etc, will allow a larger audience in a fast amount of time.

Just imagine how sick it would be to run a gourmet start up coffee shop and have an “app” that lets consumers create their dream coffee flavor. Research for the company and fun for the consumer.

Necessities.

It is now 2011, and in my opinion I believe that all businesses, especially start ups, should have a Twitter and Facebook page. Any business that expects to gain customers has a website now, but not all have Facebook pages and Twitters. This can be a disadvantage.

Having a Facebook Page gives prospect customers a chance to feel more connected and comfortable initiating conversation with the business. No more contact pages that that weeks to garner a response. Simply responding to a wall post can be beneficial to the business for receiving customer feedback and research, while the customer will feel closer to the company and be more eager to follow updates.

The same goes for Twitter. It’s all about quick responses, and seeing that a company has these two social media outlets will show the customer that the company is “hip” and up to date which is a major plus as social media is become an important business necessity.
